Interview conducted by Alan Cherry as part of the LDS Afro-American Oral History Project by the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University on 11 April 1989. Goins talks about her experiences working on a plantation in the South during her childhood. She describes her courtship, marriage, and the end of her marriage. She describes her conversion to the Mormon Church in Monroe, Louisiana, her spiritual experiences as a Mormon, and the discrimination she feels as a Black Mormon.
